Halloween Bass In The Woods 2019

Published
22nd October 2019

Halloween is fast approaching and we’ve been receiving one or two questions so thought we’d make a little thingy with some words and stuff.

Buy your tickets here. The sooner you buy the higher our capacity, the cheaper it is, the more free bar credit you get and the easier it is for us to get ready.

Three areas planned, the main room as always, a marquee and then the rave… well, it might be the rave cave, or it might be the new shiny rave tent… and we’ve got a spare one up our sleeve if ticket sales go exceptionally well… but exceptional ticket sales involve tickets being purchased at least a week in advance as we can’t just pluck extra coaches, toilets, sound systems and marquees out of our arse… so… if you want area 4, spread the word, get your tickets purchased early!

  • The Main Room (Indoor)
  • The Pool Room (Indoor)
  • The Bar (Indoor)
  • Smoking Areas (Outdoor)
  • The Outdoor Bar (Marquee #2)
  • The Party Tent (Marquee #1)
  • The Rave Cave or Rave Tent (Marquee #3)
  • BONFIRE (Weather Dependent)

Will there be food?

Why yes, there will be. It’ll be a mixture of pizzas, baguettes, jacket potatoes and maybe some burgers. Served separately… in case you were wondering.

Check the times when you’re there as it won’t be open all night as the volunteers running it also want to have fun!

Cool stuff…

The volunteering team have been hard at work constructing stages and theming the place to give you the best halloween experience we’re currently capable of… we won’t spoil the surprise for you (well, if you follow our Instagram story it might be spoiled a little…)… expect great things.

Reusable Cups

Last year we used cornstarch cups until we realised you can’t actually dispose of the cups anywhere and the council didn’t have an answer of how to get rid of them either, so this year we’ve invested in reusable cups.

We’ve also swapped plastic cable ties for velcro wherever we can…

WARNING our bar serves spirits and shots in multiples of 35ml, not 25ml like most bars in Swansea. We also don’t have pints or halves, we have something in the middle.

I care about the weather, talk at me about the weather.

Well, we put an unreasonable amount of effort into making you happy, so if it’s cold, we get heaters to heat the marquees, if it’s wet… we put up more tarps to keep the rain away… there’s also a cloakroom so if you’re cold and you happen to have popped your coat in the cloakroom… go get it… if you’re too hot… go put it away.

On the plus side it shouldn’t be muddy as we basically lay carpets everywhere.

Where does transport go to / from?

The minibuses and coaches depart from St Helens Rugby Club in Brynmill, you need to choose which bus you’re on once you’ve got your ticket. If there’s demand we might also be able to run a bus from Bay Campus, but if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

The first coach will be at around 10.20pm and will drop off in Town and then Uplands… if you want this coach you should make it known ahead of time and be ready to leave at the exit which will be the bar marquee.

I want to buy my ticket last minute because I can’t commit to things.

The later you buy, the more it costs and the less free bar credit you get and the more likely it is we’ve sold out… our “sold out” is based on a number of factors… our venue isn’t a static size and we have to book facilities to allow more people to come so even though we can technically cater for up to 1000 people, we can’t do that if everyone buys last minute… we basically have to take a gamble on how much extra stuff to book which usually results in us selling out… we can’t just assume that 500 people will come otherwise we’d end up going bankrupt if we didn’t actually sell 500 tickets. Sooo… stop thinking about coming, and just buy your ticket 😉

I’m ready to buy now, I’m going to click here to go to the tickets page
