Halloween 2019: Know Stuff

Published
29th October 2019

If you’ve made the right decision and have got yourself a ticket for Bass In The Woods #15: Halloween… here’s some stuff you might like to know…

Should I dress up?

Of course… we know Halloween is actually on Thursday, but it’s close enough, so dress to scare but make sure you’ve got warm stuff with you just in case you get cold.

If you want to look extra spooky check out our free face painting booth which will be in the barquee from open until we run out of materials 🙂

What areas will be open?

  • The Barquee – Open at 14:00 with music, ends 17:00, chill until close.
  • The Party Tent – Open at 14:00, music starts 17:00, ends 22:00.
  • The Tent of Intensity – Open at 17:00, music starts 17:00, ends 22:00.
  • The Smoking Area – Open at 18:00, closes 23:20.
  • The Bonfire – Weather Dependent
  • The Main Room – Open at 19:00, closes 22:50.
  • The Indoor Bar – Open at 19:00, closes 23:30.
  • The Rave Cave – Opens at 22:10, closes 23:30.

Please be aware that the main room does not have capacity for everyone that is attending and so at times we may have to implement a 1 in 1 out policy.

What about Food?

On our delightful menu will include…

  • Baguettes – £3 – Various fillings
  • Pizza Slice – £1
  • Whole Pizza – £3.50
  • Jacket Potatoes – £4 – Various toppings

There’s also crisps, ice lollies and lolly pops available at the bar.

Is there a bar?

There is indeed a bar serving all the usual stuff, however our bar is slightly different to other bars in Swansea in many ways…

  • You’ll get a reusable cup when you enter, you should keep this for the night, if you need a replacement cup it will cost you £1, you can ask for your cup to be rinsed at the indoor bar.
  • The bar is cashless, you need to top up your wrist band to make purchases – this means quicker service for you and less work for our volunteers.
  • Ice lollies are available.
  • We don’t serve pints (568ml) or halves (284ml), we serve something in between – roughly 375ml.
  • Our spirits are served in multiples of 35ml instead of 25ml like most bars in Swansea.
  • Hot drinks like Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Tea are also available.
  • We will also have some cuppa soup’s available.

Can I bring my own booze?

If you are on an early bus you can bring some alcohol in with you – we may however confiscate the alcohol if you are intoxicated. You cannot drink your own alcohol within the venue after 5.30pm.

Just so you know, you can’t bring glass in to the venue and only alcohol with an ABV of less than 6% is permitted… as a guide, Cider & Lager.

Yes, it’s opposite the main marquee in the stables, it’s £1 per hanger or bag if you just want to leave it there all night, or £2.50 per hanger or bag for the night, you can pay for this using your wrist band.

What about lost & found?

If you’ve found something someone might be missing, take it to the cloak room or hand it in at one of the bars… if you’ve lost something you should check if it has been handed in to the cloak room.

How does the cashless work?

When you arrive at the house you will be issued a wrist band which you will be able to use to buy food, drink and use the cloakroom… depending when you bought your ticket, you will have anything from £3 to £6 included with your ticket.

If you run out of credit you can top up using your mobile phone on the NTS Portal, if you’ve run out of data or have poor signal there is Wifi available… if you’ve run out of battery there are some chargers available in the cloak room and bar.

You can check your balance online on the NTS Portal or through using one of the balance checkpoints, there are three in total, one in each of the bars and one in the Caravan next to the Tent of Intensity.

You can request a refund using the website, refunds are processed on Wednesdays, if you need it sooner pop us a message.

What time are the coaches?

You will have chosen your bus from Brynmill to Bass In The Woods on the website, so you know when that one is… if not, you can check on the NTS Portal by heading to the tickets section and then ‘My Tickets’.

Please be respectful of our neighbours as you pass their house both on the way in and especially on the way out. They are very good to us allowing us to host our events and respect costs nothing.

Return coach times are listed below, please note we may have to ask some people to leave early to ensure that everyone is able to get home, all seats are accounted for and so all coaches must be filled to their capacity.

All seats are accounted for so please ensure you go on the bus you selected.

Can I volunteer?

We are always looking for volunteers and our events would not be possible without the team, and we could do with some extra hands for this one… chat with G at the event (if he’s not too busy!) or message our Facebook page if you’d like to get involved.
